HCI uses ferrous and non-ferrous alloys such as:
Fourslide:
Strip thickness - .002 to .050 inch
Strip width - .020 to 2.500 inches
Wire - .003 to .156 inch diameters
Press:
Strip thickness - .003 to .062
Strip width - 0.250 to 6.000 inches wide
Our goal at HCI is to create the most efficient and cost-effective process for component development. Our engineers are always available to offer suggestions concerning metal options and tooling.
When your design is completed, we custom develop the tooling to produce every part exactly to your specifications.
Fourslide tooling cost compared to a progressive die cost can be up to 75% lower. Hugin Components has designed and built several custom Fourslide machines to extremely close tolerances. These machines are not available commercially and are equipped with many unusual attachments. These attachments, plus the normal forming motions of a Fourslide machine, lend themselves to low-cost tooling and parts, while holding extremely tight tolerances. HCI's special Fourslide machines also have the capability of producing automated assemblies.
Four-slide attachments include:
They also accept bowl feeders for automated assemblies and auxiliary stock feeders that join two or more parts (as in the bandoliering process). We produce both loose pieces and reel-to-reel products, several of which are used in injection molding industry.
If you require high- or low-volume production of close tolerance parts, you can rely on HCI's precision tooling and machines to produce all components with consistent accuracy.
